Nadan Kozhi – Coconut Thoran Recipe




Ingredients :-

Nadan kozhi :-  1 (Boneless – cut into small pieces)
Garlic - Ginger paste: - I tsp
Onion :- 3 (peeled and sliced)
Small onion :- 10 (5 sliced and 5 crushed using ammikkal)
Green Chillies :-  4 (2 sliced and 2 crushed using ammikkal)
Curry Leaves :- 4 springs
Red Chillies :- 2
Mustard :- 1tsp
Coconut oil :– 3 tsp
Freshly grated coconut :-1 cup
Red chilly powder :- 2 tsp
Pepper Powder :- 2tsp
Turmeric powder :- ½ tsp
Garam masala:- ½ tsp
Chicken masala :- ½ tsp
Salt :-  to taste

Method for making Nadan kozhi – Coconut thoran  :-
             Wash the chicken very nicely (very clean)  ; drain and then cut into small pieces and mix with little turmeric powder and salt ; put aside .Mix the grated coconut with crushed small onion ,crushed green chillies , little of curry leaves , little salt , little chilly powder ,little pepper powder; put aside (it will be more tasty if you use your hands for this) 
               Pour and heat the oil in a pan ( use munchatty for tasty thoran  .Add mustard and when they splutter add the red chillies and curry leaves Add the garlic – ginger paste and fry it for 1 minute
Add the sliced green chillies, sliced onion ,sliced small onion pieces and also the remaining crushed small onion  and fry till it turns light brown colour.Then add garam masala, chicken masala,chilly powder,pepper powder , salt .
            Add the fresh chicken pieces .Close the pan and cook for 10 to 15 minutes .Now add little pepper powder and garam masala .Now add the last but not the least  , coconut mix and mix with the chicken well .Add little oil and curry leaves and dry roast it in a medium heat .Once the dish getting dark brown colour, remove it from the fire .Garnish it with the curry leaves



   * Now you can serve the hot spicy Nadan Kozhi Thoran with nadan rice and pappadam*
